Contracts Connecting Universities and Businesses: Knowledge Transfer under Article 60 – Transferencia al Aire Podcast
13 October 2026
Transferencia al aire is the podcast of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) Knowledge Transfer Service. It is a space where we connect academia with the business and social sectors, bringing research, innovation and knowledge closer to those who can apply them and turn them into value.
In this third episode, we focus on a key and direct route to making this transfer possible: collaboration agreements between universities and companies under Article 60 of the Organic Law on the University System (LOSU). This instrument enables universities to provide scientific and technical services or carry out research projects tailored to the real needs of their surrounding environment.
To discuss these issues, we are joined by three experts from the UMH Knowledge Transfer Service: Nuria Marañón, Pilar Antolín and Silvia Botella. Drawing on their extensive experience in managing these agreements, they explain what they involve, how they are structured, the benefits they offer to both companies and researchers, and why they are becoming an increasingly relevant tool.
Because knowledge transfer can also mean collaborating from the outset, responding to a specific need and entering into a joint commitment.
