Article 60 LOSU Contracts

Article 60 of the LOSU (Organic Law 2/2023, of 22 March, on the University System) authorises university departments and research institutes, as well as their teaching and research staff through these bodies, to enter into contracts with individuals, universities, and public and private entities for the performance of scientific, technological, humanities, or artistic work, as well as for specific training activities. There are two modalities, which will be used depending on the characteristics of the work to be carried out and the contractual conditions.

Service Provision Modality:

Service provision contracts cover predominantly technical and specific tasks (tests, technical reports, legal opinions, expert assessments, etc.). This modality may be used when the financial consideration is less than €12,000, the execution period is less than 12 months, and there is no need to expressly regulate conditions relating to ownership of results, publications, or the responsibilities of the parties.

Contract Modality

When any of the circumstances mentioned above is not met, the contract modality will be used.
