BIENESTAR Workshop: Emotional Management and Healthy Habits
Practical training in stress management, sleep quality and physical activity to promote active ageing and prevent burnout among healthcare professionals.
TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION
The workshop covers different aspects to help participants manage stress and anxiety, improve sleep and follow physical activity guidelines that can enhance their quality of life. Specifically, the workshop provides:
- Guidelines for identifying and managing emotions.
- Guidelines for identifying and reducing stress and anxiety through relaxation techniques practised during the workshop.
- Guidelines for good sleep hygiene, including basic techniques for falling asleep.
- Guidelines for maintaining good physical activity habits through activities that can be incorporated into daily routines to remain active throughout the day.
- Health education.
- Healthy leisure activities.
TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS
The workshop is a versatile social and healthcare intervention tool:
-
Active Ageing: Municipal programmes to improve health among older people.
-
Prevention of Psychosocial Risks: Training for healthcare staff in residential care facilities and hospitals to reduce work-related stress.
-
Family Support: Training programmes for informal carers to improve the emotional management of dependent people.
-
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Wellbeing programmes for companies in the social and healthcare sector.
ADVANTAGES AND INNOVATIVE ASPECTS
The advantage and innovative aspect of our workshop lies in the limited availability of training programmes for older people that provide guidance and strategies to improve their quality of life through emotional management, stress and anxiety management, sleep care and basic physical activity guidelines.
Currently, workshops are offered on cognitive stimulation, memory, crafts, board games, gardening, nutrition, reading and radio, focusing on activities for older people. In contrast to these existing offerings, we propose practical workshops involving low-intensity emotional and physical exercises that contribute to the wellbeing and health of older people themselves.
What makes our approach different is the provision of practical workshops based on guidelines and tools for older people, focused on WELLBEING and the care of emotional health (living well, feeling well and feeling good), based on the basic needs of daily life and how to enhance them, ensuring improved physical and psychological wellbeing through emotional management, stress and anxiety management, quality of rest and sleep, and healthy lifestyle habits for older people.
The aim is to expand the programme to highly practical workshops addressing other future needs, such as digital training for older people and emotional support for formal carers such as nurses (guidelines for managing burnout) and informal carers (family members), thereby extending the offer to staff and family members.
