Consultancy on Motor Learning Strategies

Consultancy on Motor Learning Strategies

Analysis and consultancy reports on interventions to improve motor skill learning in different populations.

TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION

Drawing on the expertise of the Motor Learning and Control Research Group (APCOM) in motor control and learning processes, we offer analysis and consultancy to help improve motor skill learning in both athletes and non-athletes. The service provides reports on individuals’ motor characteristics and recommendations on the most appropriate intervention strategies for each case.

TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS

Advice on the most appropriate strategies for optimising or improving motor skill learning is a resource used by coaches and teachers to support learning processes according to an individual’s stage of development. This service includes an analysis of the learner’s characteristics, as well as training and recommendations on learning strategies.

ADVANTAGES AND INNOVATIVE ASPECTS

One of the main advantages of consultancy on learning strategies is more efficient use of time, leading to improved performance. Using different strategies can reduce the time required to acquire or improve a skill. Another advantage is that strategies can be tailored to the individual’s stage of development, avoiding approaches that are unsuitable for their age or performance level. Individualised interventions are designed according to each individual’s stage of development. Coaches, technical staff and physical education teachers are also advised on the most appropriate learning strategies, taking into account the individual’s developmental stage, skill level and experience in the relevant activity. The research group has extensive experience in motor learning, having conducted numerous projects and studies that underpin its expertise. This knowledge is now being transferred to practical settings, including sports clubs, sports centres and educational institutions.

DEVELOPMENT STAGE

These assessments are available and are routinely carried out by the centre. The research team also has extensive experience in conducting tests.
