Another key application is the assessment of real-world situations in which an air pollution reduction plan is needed to ensure compliance with regulatory standards or improve the quality of the air people breathe. The resulting information enables authorities to take appropriate action and implement strategies to reduce atmospheric pollutant concentrations that compromise ambient air quality. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Private organisations (companies, schools, hotels, conference venues, entertainment venues, etc.):<\/span> Today, all companies and public institutions are expected to have a comprehensive Health and Environmental Management Plan. Within these plans, air quality is likely to become increasingly important as new European regulations are implemented. As part of this comprehensive plan, organisations must ensure compliance with applicable regulations and verify that pollutant concentrations do not exceed specified limits within their own premises or in the immediate surrounding area, where pollutants may be generated by their activities. They therefore need to verify and document levels of pollutants identified in legislation as harmful when these are generated by their specific activities. These substances may be released outdoors, affecting public health, or present in indoor environments, with implications for the occupational health of employees. Assessing measured pollutant concentrations in these environments and identifying their specific sources provides the information needed to develop reduction plans for both outdoor emissions and workplace pollutants.
