These actions are normally carried out through the signing of specific contracts. The most common are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>LICENCE AGREEMENTS:<\/strong> through which the University, as the holder of a patent, trade secret or software, authorises a third party, a commercial partner, to exploit and use the asset in exchange for financial compensation in the form of royalties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PATENT VALIDATION OR PROOF-OF-CONCEPT AGREEMENT:<\/strong> through which the actions carried out by a third party that are necessary to demonstrate the commercial viability of the subject matter of the patent are regulated, granting the third party a preferential right to a licence to use the patent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CONTRIBUTION OF PATENTS, SOFTWARE OR KNOW-HOW TO A TECHNOLOGY-BASED COMPANY:<\/strong> through an agreement, the transfer of technology from the University (the owner of the technology) to a commercial entity created to commercially exploit knowledge or technologies derived from research carried out at the University is regulated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For any questions relating to these types of agreements, please do not hesitate to contact the Knowledge Transfer Service, where we can provide you with a draft agreement.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201ctransfer function\u201d constitutes the third mission of universities (alongside teaching and research), defining them as institutions committed to economic and social development, contributing to the promotion of the business sector and to the quality of life of society.<br \/>\nThere are different actions aimed at transferring the university\u2019s protected results to society.
